ActionH20 Water Sustainability Charter

March 2010

The purpose of the ActionH20 Water Sustainability Charter is to commit local government councils across Canada to achieving local water conservation goals. By signing the Charter, communities have the opportunity to be part of a Canadawide network of leaders, innovators and champions working toward local and regional water conservation goals

From an ActionH20 campaign perspective, the Charter is intended to be both a public accountability tool and a community building tool that holds local government staff and politicians accountable to a clear commitment to water stewardship, efficiency and conservation, and an integrated approach to resource management in their communities

The ActionH20 Water Sustainability Charter Toolkit gives an overview of how community groups can use the Charter to engage local governments, including quick tips and strategies.
